Sunday, April 19

Hello there sisters! I hope you were all able to have an enjoyable Easter and feel the amazing love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as we celebrated the Atonement and Resurrection this past weekend. If you haven't seen the clip yet, check out this short video based on Elder Holland's conference talk that Talia shared in her great lesson on Sunday: "Easter Message - None Were With Him". Isn't the Plan of Happiness wonderful! And isn't it amazing what Christ has done for us?

The lessons for this week are:

Sunday School: Lesson 14 (D&C 14) "The Law of Consecration"

Relief Society: Lesson 32 Joseph Smith Manual "Responding to Persecution with Faith and Courage"
As I read this lesson, many thoughts came to mind about current persecutions and trials. I think the principles in this lesson apply not only to responding to persecution with faith and courage- but responding to trials, difficulties in whatever form, with faith and courage. I love that Joseph Smith says that, "...God hath made broad our shoulders for the burden (p.375)". How wonderful! He does not take away the trying experiences of this telestial world, instead He provides us with the strength to make it through those experiences so that we may be perfected (Hebrews 2:10). Otherwise we would forever remain the same, unchanged, and unrefined. Thus, "let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed (D&C 123:17)".

Remember also to help others carry the burdens on their shoulders by being a ministering angel in your families, friendships and visiting teaching.

with love,
April
